ERDT has successfully delivered Pursuit Management training to the Malta and Cayman Island Police.
Pre-Course Requirements.
The candidate must have completed a SFJ Awards emergency response driver or rider initial or re-assessment course within 3 years prior to attending the pursuit management driver/rider course, delivered by an ERDT Ltd Instructor or an Instructor that has completed the SFJ Awards ERD Instructors course.
Pursuit Course Content:
- Initiating a Pursuit. Attempting to stop a vehicle. Fail to stop etc.
- Set terminology and commentaries.
- Requesting authority to Pursue from Duty Inspector etc.
- Granting or refusing a Pursuit authority.
- Conduct an accurate running commentary whilst in pursuit and requesting assistance from other trained units.
- Tactical phases to bring to pursuit to a conclusion as quickly and safely as possible.
- Terminating a Pursuit if it becomes disproportionate or circumstances change.
Course Certification: The course is certificated by ERDT Ltd.
